Hey sorry about the long break. I just want to send out my wishes to the people in Oklahoma. I was really upset no one at school seamed to care. Some kid actually said it didn't matter because it was not a terrorist attack.... What is wrong with my generation? Anyway that's all I wanted to say. My best wishes to the people of Oklahoma.

gay mirage

You know it was only a matter of time before I brought up this issue. It is one that is very close to my hart as some of the people who are closest to me are homosexuals. My moms, my great grandma, my “ aunt” (she is my mom’s best friend), my favorite teacher (and his two little sisters), my great grandma and many more people. I also have a lot of people who are bi and close to me, two of my best friends being the closest.

With that intro I think it is safe to assume you understand I am a strong supporter of same-sex marriage.  And I have tried to here the other side out, tried to make since of it-but I am telling you I honestly can not! Pleas if you think you can explain it do. I will lay out my points for you

They have the right to be happy. America is supposed to be founded on the idea that every one is equal. Obama said it quite perfectly in his inauguration speech “if we really are created equal than isn’t our love for one another equal” we can not advance as a nation until we are a truly free nation. That is the truth. They are humans, Americans, why is it they are denied the right to peruse happiness?

Get your religion out of the discussion. The US was separated church and religion for a reason. It is against some religions to celebrate holydays, yet we still do that. It is against some religions to eat pork yet you don’t here them yelling at the government to make eating pork illegal. To me this sounds like they are saying “well because it is against my religion I cant do it so no one can” and that just makes no sense. No one is forcing you to marry anyone. And that nonsense about gay people not being real religious people-that just makes me mad. There are two people I now who follow the true beliefs of there religion and are better people than most other people in there religion. One is my theater director, who is a catholic and the other my great grandma who is the sweetest woman alive and a christen. So in summation religion is just not a valid counter argument.

THEY DO NOT WANT YOU! Stop being a homophob and thinking just because they like the same sex and that is you that they want you. That’s just conceded. That’s like thinking every girl wants you just because you are a guy. I don’t want to here it, just stupid nonsense. Oh hey and true story: people who are the most homophobic become most sexually aroused by gay porn, food for thought.

By denying homosexuals the right to get married you deny them the right to not only happiness, but security. Often times people in homosexual relationships have no rights to there partners estate after they pass. The children involved in these partnerships could go to foster care. The money and belongings could go to the state, and all because some religious homophobe is scared a gay person will hit on them because they can get married. Wooo what an American value, sounds like a nation I am proud of. NOT

Gay discrimination

"If they are allowed to be teachers they will molest the students". OH MY GOSH DO YOU WATCH THE NEWS. I have never herd of a homosexual teacher molesting or having sexual relationships with any students. Straight teachers on the other hand have affairs with students all the time. In the past year I have herd of at least 5. I have to say my homosexual teachers are better at there job than there straight counter parts. 

Marijuana

I brought this up in my last post and I thought I would address it broadly. So here goes-my thoughts on marijuana.

I think it should be legalizes, packaged, sold and taxed. I have many reasons why

1.       It is a gateway drug because everyone makes it seem so much worse than it is. People take it and think “that was not as bad as I thought” and think that they were lied to about other drugs. Also with pot being illegal that means people have contact with the dealer. If pot were sold like cigarettes than it would never be a gateway drug and many people would not ever try any harsher drugs-thus drug prevention.

2.       People are going to smoke it. Why not make a profit for the US gov as opposed to privet prison companies. When you put people away for possession of pot you hurt the economy. Not only do they take funding away from the government (food, clothing, etc. While in prison) but they are not making money to spend in the economy and get it flowing. Also when they get out of jail it is hard to get a job, thus taking more money out of the economy.

3.       It would drastically reduce cartel business in the US; most of what they ship in now is pot.

4.       JOB CREATION. Think about it. You will need people to grow it, to package it, to sell it, to take care of all the organization in-between. Think about it. That is a huge boost in jobs!

5.       It is better for your body than cigarettes and alcohol. We have already tried prohibition, it did not work. What logic is there then in keeping something that does less damage illegal? No one has ever killed anyone or abused anyone on pot.

6.       Save resources for other needs. Like I said people who are used to get people smoking pot can be better used looking for illegal guns, or actually harmful drugs

The way I see it the benefits of legalizing pot are through the roof! With the economic benefits alone this would boost the standard of living in the US so much.

gun controll

I was at school today when my “little brother” Warren brought up gun control. Now Warren is a freshman who is very close to me, though we are not related, and he made me realize how under developed my generations knowledge on gun control is. I thought I would take the time today to talk about my ideals on what gun control should be.

First I feel like anything other than a hunting rifle or a hand gun should not be allowed for civilian use, EVER. No exceptions. A well-organized militia does not mean letting civilians walk around with guns that can kill 100 people with the squeeze of a trigger. That is just stupid. The government is not going to rise up and kill you-and if that’s you argument for automatic weapons than by that logic might as well just give American’s the right to nuclear weapons and bombs while we are at it. I get some people want to hunt, that’s half my family. And I understand that a gun can make people feel safer and can save their life in self-defense. Though an argument against that is more people are shot who own a gun than those without a gun. And often times it is their own gun that does them in, just something to think about that’s all.

Second point in my gun control plan, intense and thorough back ground checks and mental evaluations for those who wish to own a gun. And anyone who protests this must be crazy or have something to hide. I have no idea how people have come to think it is wrong to want to back ground check someone who wishes to own a weapon that can kill from a distance and has the potential to kill and wound people quickly. (If anyone can logically explain this please do comment) sorry but I just don’t want crazy people with a history of violence owning something like that. If makes me feel unsafe.

Third point is going to hit a nerve. I think you should have to be 21 to own a gun. As an 18 year old I can tell you there are times where my hormones and emotions make me irrational. I know people, a lot of people, who go through the same thing. Now I am not saying we are to immature for a gun, not at all, I think 18 year olds often are not given credit for their maturity. I am saying we are too chemically imbalanced to be trusted 100% of the time with a gun. I mean it is illegal on most college campuses anyway so that takes care of most of the 18-21 year olds.

Ok and my last point is about the black marked. I feel the government should legalize pot and other non-harmful things they waist there money hunting down. Raise taxes on guns, use those taxes to lance a full war on guns, just like the war on drugs, though hopefully more effective. The argument that “oh they will get guns illegally” should not be valid. Those seeking out automatic weapons should be treated like terrorists trying to get bombs.

They say “guns don’t kill people, people kill people” to answer I say “but guns sure help.”  A case study of my argument is this: the day of the New Town elementary school shootings two elementary were attacked. The one in New Town was attacked with a gun and 23 people died, most of them children. In Japan an attacker entered an elementary school armed with a knife. He hurt a few but the death count was 0.

No matter how many school shooting we have no one fixes the issue. I have a little sister in elementary school and I am in high school myself. And every day I wake up and hope that it is not a day that someone crazy with an automatic weapon does not open fire at a school. Every time I go to the movies and see that safety first add they put in I wonder if there will be a repeat of the Dark Knight shootings. You never know. With lax gun laws the likely hood is high. I would like to feel safe in school again.

abortion

This is a topic that I find very interesting. I am pro-choice and let me give you my reasons why

1) people make mistakes. They get put in situations and they do not always respond the right  was. One mistake and it ruins your life. I don't think that should ever be the case. I feel like there should be an option for those who make mistakes.

2) rape happens and sometimes it results in a baby. I do not feel like the woman who was raped should have to endure and carry to tern a baby conceived from rape. 

3) a woman has the right to choose what grows in her body. the man may voice his opinion but it is the girls decision. she is the one who has her body and life changed, forever, no matter what she does. 

I am not pro a woman can have unlimited abortions . I think the limit should be set at one. then they should be out of that situation. for all those "pro life" people out there I propose a compromise. You don't want abortions than support birth control and family planing! You can not complain about abortion when you provide no real alternative  Adoption is not a real alternative either! Many children in adoption are neglected, abused, and fall between the cracks. there life is hell. 

Also to those who want to shut down planed parenthood you will only make abortions worse. Whats wrong with providing a back up for girls who made mistakes, who were drugged, or who were out right raped. you can  not have it both ways.

and stop using "its against my religion" as an excuse. the is America. the constitution separates Church and state. Every one should have a right to a back up. no one is forcing  you to have it....but it should be available.

It is sad to say it but religion is no longer what it was made to be. now it is an excuse for hate. fanatics use religion as a reason to discriminate. it is a reason why equality can not be reached. it results in more hate crimes than any other cause. i am enraged  I am a wiccan and i can not tell you how many times people think  i am evil,
religion has been the cause of wars, mass murders, and genocide  people have used it as a justification for slavery, racism, sexism, homophobia and social darwinisum. Jesus and Mohammad never ment for there philosophy to be the reason why millions died. they both respected woman and though every one should love one another. Jews, Muslims, and christens all worship the same god, yet they hate each other.
religion is no longer a way to live life but a way those in power keep those with out from wanting it. it distracts them with hate and discrimination. 
religion is commercialized  your supposed to give god 15% of your income. GOD ID A DEITY  HE HAS NO USE FOR MONEY! it is supposed to be unquestioned! how can a nation grow when they are tought knowledge is the enemy of faith! religion. in days of slavery religion was used to keep slaves in check and now it is used to keep low income people in there position. 
no matter what your religion i propose a revolution. look into your religion. question it. bring it back to what it was meant to be. do not let society turn it into hate and commercialism!
